The newly crowned champion stallion of the Oldenburg licensing in Vechta will move into his stud box at our centre.
With his magnificent appearance, his three absolutely outstanding basic gaits and his ideal character, the jet-black son of Bonds out of the highly decorated Fackese mare line was the talk of the town from his very first appearance on the triangle track. Oldenburg's breeders celebrated the new licensing winner with a standing ovation at the final presentation of the three-day Oldenburg Stallion Days. The stallion was born at Hans and Britta Scherbring's stud and was presented by Anne Haase.
At the subsequent stallion auction, the bidding duel for the radiant winner only ended with a final bid of €360,000 in favour of the renowned Lövsta Stuteri stallion station in Sweden. Lövsta and the DLZ had already agreed that the winner should be stationed in Lodbergen.
The Verbier's career is proof that the collaboration between Sweden and Lodbergen works excellently. The son of Von und Zu advanced to become the acclaimed champion stallion at the Oldenburg licensing in 2023, was auctioned at Lövsta Stuteri and spent his first two breeding years at the DLZ. Thanks to his fabulous performance – he won his short test under Jessica Lynn Thomas with dream scores – and his first foals, which achieved top prices at auctions, Verbier has now been named winner of the Oldenburg Main Premium.
While Verbier is now set to continue his sporting career under the patronage of his Swedish owners, as agreed, the new champion stallion from Oldenburg is taking his place at the DLZ.
"We couldn't have wished for a better new addition to our very sport-oriented stud farm. This stallion is something very, very special, both genetically and in terms of his appearance,‘ says Wolfgang Stagge, operations manager at the DLZ, happily. ’We share the Lövsta Stuteri team's high quality standards and are very grateful for the good cooperation and the great trust they place in our work."
